Manager, Fixed Assets (861)

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing the organization’s fixed assets function across the committee, sports federations, and affiliated entities under Shared Services and Solutions. This includes overseeing the end-to-end fixed assets lifecycle — from acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfer, and disposal — while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures accurate asset recording, tracking, and reporting to support sound financial management and informed decision-making.

Fixed Assets Management

• Oversee all fixed assets activities, ensuring timely capitalization, tagging, and classification in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Review and validate fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
• Monitor and reconcile the fixed assets register with the general ledger to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Manage asset depreciation processes, ensuring correct application of depreciation methods and useful lives.
  
  

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure fixed asset accounting aligns with The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSAS)and SOPC accounting policies.
• Support in the preparation of financial statements and provide fixed assets-related schedules and disclosures.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, providing all required information and supporting documentation.
  
  

Reconciliation and Analysis

• Perform regular reconciliations of fixed assets accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies.
• Conduct periodic physical verification of assets in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Analyze asset utilization, impairment, and disposals to identify opportunities for optimization.
  
  

Documentation and Record Keeping

• Maintain complete and accurate records for all fixed assets transactions in line with SOPC’s record retention policy.
• Ensure that supporting documents for acquisitions, disposals, and revaluations are properly archived and accessible.
  
  

Operational Support

• Provide guidance and support to federations and entities regarding fixed asset policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the improvement of fixed asset management processes and systems for better control and reporting accuracy.
