Job Purpose: The Fan Monetization Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through innovative strategies targeting the fan base of the Esports World Cup. This role focuses on converting fan engagement into measurable business opportunities by leveraging advertising, subscriptions, digital content, events, and emerging monetization methods like collectibles and fandom based subscriptions.

Job Purpose: The Fan Monetization Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through innovative strategies targeting the fan base of the Esports World Cup. This role focuses on converting fan engagement into measurable business opportunities by leveraging advertising, subscriptions, digital content, events, and emerging monetization methods like collectibles and fandom based subscriptions.
Duties And Responsibilities
Monetization Strategy Development:
- Create and implement strategies to generate revenue from fan engagement across digital and physical platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and sales teams to develop and execute monetization campaigns.
- Work with the fan engagement team to create fan membership programs (e.g., exclusive tiers, rewards, and benefits).
- Develop strategies for selling exclusive content such as behind-the-scenes videos, player interviews, and premium streams.
- Oversee the creation, promotion, and sales of digital items (e.g., skins, NFTs, or collectibles).
- Partner with design teams to create products aligned with fan preferences and organizational branding.
- Collaborate with the sponsorship team to integrate monetization opportunities into campaigns, including branded events, fan packages, and special features on platforms.
- Use analytics tools to track fan behavior and revenue streams.
- Identify high-value fan segments and tailor offerings to maximize ROI.
- Measure the performance of monetization initiatives and refine strategies accordingly.
- Work closely with community managers to align monetization efforts with fan expectations.
- Foster a positive fan experience while balancing revenue objectives.
- Explore opportunities to monetize live streams, including subscriptions and ad revenue.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 3+ years of professional experience in a related field such as esports, gaming, entertainment, sports marketing, or digital content monetization.
- Demonstrated ability to work within fast-paced, dynamic industries where trends evolve quickly, particularly in esports and gaming.
- Proven track record of designing, launching, and scaling fan-centric monetization initiatives such as subscription models, exclusive memberships, merchandise sales, or digital asset offerings (e.g., NFTs or skins).
- Experience in pricing strategy, revenue modeling, and implementing A/B tests to optimize monetization channels.
- Familiarity with fan behavior and community dynamics in the esports/gaming space.
- Experience collaborating with community managers or social media teams to design monetization programs that resonate with specific fan demographics
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or proprietary systems for merchandise and digital product sales.
- Experience working with digital payment systems, loyalty points, or blockchain-enabled payment solutions.
- Strong understanding of esports culture and fan behavior.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
- Excellent project management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving ability to identify and act on new monetization opportunities.
- Familiarity with platforms like Twitch, YouTube Gaming, Discord, and online merchandise storefronts.
