Legal & Contracts Manager
The Ideal Candidate will have extensive experience in legal and contractual management within the engineering consultancy or construction industry. They will play a key role in safeguarding ARX's interests by managing contracts, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations, and advising on legal and commercial risks. With strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach, the candidate will support project teams, business development, and senior management in achieving successful project and corporate outcomes.

Legal & Contracts Manager
The Ideal Candidate will have extensive experience in legal and contractual management within the engineering consultancy or construction industry. They will play a key role in safeguarding ARX's interests by managing contracts, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations, and advising on legal and commercial risks. With strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach, the candidate will support project teams, business development, and senior management in achieving successful project and corporate outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts with clients, partners, and subcontractors.
- Provide legal and contractual advice to management and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Identify potential risks in contractual terms and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support proposal and business development teams by reviewing RFPs, tender conditions, and contractual obligations.
- Manage claims, disputes, and variations, working closely with external counsel when required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain contract management policies, procedures, and templates.
- Maintain accurate contract records, databases, and ensure timely renewals or amendments.
- Monitor regulatory updates in Saudi Arabia and advise the company on legal and compliance matters.
- Conduct internal training sessions for staff on contract management, compliance, and risk awareness.
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); Master's degree in Law or Construction Law is an advantage.
- Minimum 10-15 years experience in legal and contracts management, with at least 5 years in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia preferred).
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, consultancy agreements, and construction contracts.
- Familiarity with Saudi commercial, corporate, and labor laws.
- Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency highly desirable).
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
- Certifications (Preferred): Membership in a recognized bar association; certification in Contract Management (e.g., MRICS, MCIPS, or IACCM/WorldCC).
- Experience supporting mega-projects or government contracts in KSA (e.g., NEOM, Red Sea, Diriyah).
- Proven ability to manage high-value, complex contracts under tight deadlines.
- Middle East Experience Mandatory
