Our client, a leading international consultancy, is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to oversee the site supervision of multiple high-profile building projects in Riyadh. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong structural design background, deep experience with Architect of Record (AOR) responsibilities, and a proven ability to manage large, complex developments. The ideal candidate will have extensive exposure to international standards and practices and must have spent at least 10 years working in the Middle East region.
Lead the structural engineering site supervision across multiple concurrent construction projects, ensuring design intent is maintained through to completion.
Act as the key interface between the consultant team, client, contractors, and stakeholders on all structural engineering matters.
Review and approve structural submittals, shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and material approvals to ensure alignment with the design and AOR requirements.
Provide expert structural engineering guidance to site teams, resolving complex issues quickly and efficiently.
Oversee and coordinate with site inspectors and engineering staff to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance.
Attend regular site and client meetings, providing technical input and reporting on structural performance and construction challenges.
Work collaboratively with architectural and MEP counterparts to ensure coordinated multidisciplinary solutions on site.
Ensure all structural works adhere to relevant international codes, local regulations, and project specifications.
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
20+ years of structural engineering experience, with a significant focus on design and site supervision for complex, large-scale building projects.
Minimum of 10 years' experience working in the Middle East, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
Proven background working for major international engineering consultancies or multidisciplinary firms.
Strong knowledge of AOR roles and responsibilities on major projects.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Client-facing with the ability to represent the company confidently and professionally at all levels.
Chartership or professional engineering license (e.g., CEng, PE, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
