Job Description Summary The Lead M&D (Monitoring and Diagnosis) Engineer executes engineering activities for the projects assigned considering the quality/Cost/ time delivery criteria, supporting the SABAP cluster (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Pakistan, Afghanistan). This role involves planning design activities, managing project design budget, implementing design change process, supervising, and coordinating all engineering activities required to execute the project, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, and ensuring technical compliance to project specification. The successful candidate will coordinate with cross functional teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Job Description

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Execute the M&D Engineering activities for the projects assigned considering the quality/Cost/ time delivery criteria.
  • Man-days (MD) estimation for design activities during ITO stage and its control during OTR stage.
  • Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to specify and design the project, whilst meeting the required technical standards.
  • Preparation of all applicable production documentations needed for panels integration.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of design documents to stakeholders with quality including partner documents.
  • Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to PL procedures and per the project strategy.
  • Participate to project strategy reviews with PM and manage design issues up to resolution.
  • Analyze customer technical requirements, prepare and or consolidate clause by clause analysis and ensure compliance to Customer requirements through technical queries. Identify, track, and manage potential exception and represents customer interests in the design decisions at PM request.
  • Customer technical point of contact for M&D products
  • Check consistency of engineering documents before final release to customer while managing evolution of customer requirements & associated impacts.
  • Check effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimization in all design phase and mainly during base design.
  • Approve the technical evaluation of offers from suppliers, Support Procurement during commercial negotiation for POs issuance and during post order stage.
  • Support site organization during site preparation and commissioning stage when required and ensure compliance with Quality Procedures, work instructions and processes defined at Unit and project level.
  • Support factory during FAT preparation and conduct internal validation followed by customer FAT to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrate EHS compliance and ensure Zero Deviation Plan and setting the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observes work conditions and behaviors, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effective prevention.
  • Effectively communicate directly with customers to ensure excellent customer service and to build and maintain customer intimacy.
  • Work closely with ITO team to support new opportunities preparation and negotiations. This includes conducting site surveys, deals estimations and prequalification support.
  • Participate in cost reduction process through standardization and out of the box ideas that optimize the provided solutions.
  • Implement lean in M&D design and deliveries.
  • Follow SQDC in design activities of M&D

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 05 years minimum relevant experience in substation projects including protection and control, monitoring and diagnosis systems.
  • Experienced in transformer/reactor monitoring and diagnosis systems like DGA
  • Ability to prepare design documents for monitoring and diagnosis system
  • Ability to conduct FAT with reference to project specification
  • Good experience in communication and networks
  • Good experience in reading secondary and primary drawings
  • Strong understanding of substation protection and control systems
  • Good oral / written communication skills in English and/or Arabic
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the region without limitation.

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to read, interpret tender/contract documents, schematics, procedures and policy guidelines
  • Experience in engineering tools like Ebase, Elecdes etc
  • Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to Analyze data from monitoring systems to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Knowledge in competitor products is advantage
  • Ability to provide training for internal team/customers and external customer/suppliers Time and resource management skills.
  • Ability to present technical solutions to customer and identify possible workaround for an issue
  • Proficiency in electrical design software, including AutoCAD, E3, Microsoft Visio, Microstation, PDF Editor, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with ETAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the standards of major utility, oil & gas, and industrial companies in GCC countries, such as Saudi Aramco, National Grid of Saudi Arabia, Ma'aden, EWA, ALBA, Kahramaa, TAQA, DEWA, MEW, etc.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental requirements for engineering activities.
  • Experience in SAP project module
  • Understanding of the business in SABAP clusters countries (Saudi, Bahrain, Pakistan, Afghanistan)
