As a Junior Electronics and IoT Engineer, you will oversee the entire development lifecycle—from ideation to delivery—ensuring that solutions are both efficient and effective. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and firmware engineers, to ensure seamless system architecture and integration for our customers. Additionally, your responsibilities will include diagnosing technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our production processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of advanced electronics hardware and firmware for IoT products and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and design architecture for IoT solutions.
- Design and implement embedded systems software and perform validation testing for electronics components and systems.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of electronics components and systems.
- Develop and document technical specifications, user manuals, and other relevant documentation for IoT products.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, components, and protocols for integration into IoT systems.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure successful integration and deployment of IoT solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during the development and deployment stages.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure successful integration and deployment of IoT solutions.
- Keeping track, number of the components and availability of the necessary components for the circuits in inventory.
- Inventory tracking of parts required for maintenance. Collaborate with production operators to identify and address technical issues that arise during manufacturing processes.
- Participate in root cause analysis to identify and address underlying production issues.
- Assist in the production, setup and calibration of equipment as needed.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics engineering or IoT-related roles, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Strong Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python .
- Good knowledge in Yocto Project for embedded Linux builds, customization, deployment and bring up sensors.
- Extensive experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming (ARM - AVR).
- Knowledge of main communication buses I2C SPI UART.
- In-depth knowledge of IoT communication protocols such as MQTT and HTTPs.
- Strong expertise in electronics design, circuit analysis, and systems integration.
- Proven experience with PCB design tools and layout (Eagle, Altium, etc.), including high-speed design considerations.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts t both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electronics manufacturing and product certification.
- Experience with soldering, wiring, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for prototyping and fabrication.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of QT/QML
- Hands-on experience with AWS IoT Core
Type of employment: Full time
Schedule: 8 hours shift, 6 working days/week.
Work location: KAUST Research & Technology Park, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.
Transportation: Daily shuttles between Jeddah and KAUST are available.
