Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Interior Design Inspector to oversee and ensure the quality, compliance, and execution of interior design elements for hospitality projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of interior design principles, construction standards, and hospitality-specific requirements. This role involves inspecting design implementations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of aesthetics and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Quality Assurance:

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that interior design elements are executed according to approved plans, specifications, and design intent.
• Verify that materials, finishes, and furnishings meet the required quality standards and align with the project’s design vision.
• Identify and document any deviations, defects, or non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  
  
  

Compliance And Standards

• Ensure that all interior design work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and hospitality industry standards.
• Confirm that the project adheres to sustainability and accessibility guidelines, where applicable.
  
  
  

Collaboration And Coordination

• Work closely with interior designers, architects, contractors, and project managers to address design-related issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to the design team to enhance functionality, aesthetics, and guest experience.
  
  
  

Documentation And Reporting

• Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and descriptions of findings, for project stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, and any corrective actions taken.
  
  
  

Project Oversight

• Monitor the progress of interior design installations to ensure timely completion within the project schedule.
• Assist in reviewing mock-ups, prototypes, and samples to ensure they meet design specifications.
  
  
  

Hospitality-Specific Focus

• Ensure that interior design elements align with the brand identity and guest experience goals of the hospitality project.
• Evaluate the functionality and durability of design elements in high-traffic areas, such as lobbies, guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in interior design inspection or quality assurance, preferably in hospitality projects.
• Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, finishes, and construction techniques.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry standards, including ADA compliance and fire safety regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting design drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse project teams.
• Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations as needed.
  
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Certification in interior design or construction management (e.g., NCIDQ, LEED, or equivalent).
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials.
