Intelligent Transportation System Subject Matter Expert

Context

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented ITS SME. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and oversight for all aspects related to the design, integration, installation, and commissioning of intelligent transportation systems on the road upgrade and improvement project. This includes advanced traffic management, surveillance, and communications systems, ensuring the solutions comply with local and international standards and meet stakeholders’ requirements throughout the project lifecycle.This position is to be based at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Missions/Main Duties

• Lead the ITS design and review process from feasibility through detailed design and construction.
• Advise on technical specifications, integration requirements, and tender documentation related to ITS.
• Conduct technical reviews of contractor and vendor ITS submittals and shop drawings.
• Supervise ITS installation, commissioning, and testing activities during construction.
• Coordinate with road, electrical, communication, and civil engineering teams for seamless system integration.
• Oversee ITS-related inspections, punch-lists, and acceptance testing during handover and DLP.
• Provide expert guidance on ITS maintenance requirements and training for client stakeholders.
  
  

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree (Master's preferred) in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant ITS experience in major road or infrastructure projects.
• Deep knowledge of ITS devices and systems (e.g., VMS, CCTV, traffic control, sensors, communication networks).
• Familiarity with local Riyadh/Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international ITS standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Must be a member of a Chartered Institution
