Inspector - QC (Structural)

Job Summary

The QC Structural Inspector is responsible for inspecting and verifying the fabrication, welding, erection, and finishing of structural steel works to ensure full compliance with project specifications, drawings, and international standards.

Location : Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Roles & Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel fabrication, cutting, fit-up, alignment, and welding activities.
• Review structural drawings, material specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
• Verify material compliance (steel grades, MTCs, heat numbers, traceability).
• Conduct on-site inspections for structural erection, bolting, tightening, and grouting.
• Ensure welding activities follow approved WPS/PQR/WPQ and project standards.
• Monitor NDT activities (VT, MT, PT, UT) and review results for acceptance.
• Inspect surface preparation, painting, and finishing of structural components where applicable.
• Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and corrective action follow-ups.
• Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and third-party agencies.
• Maintain documentation, QC records, and inspection logs as per project requirements.
• Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards at all times.

Mandatory Requirements

• Diploma/Graduation in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of QC experience in structural fabrication and erection.
• Strong knowledge of structural standards: AWS D1.1, AISC, ISO, ASTM.
• Understanding of welding processes and related QC requirements.
• Familiarity with NDT methods and interpretation of results.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, weld maps, and fabrication details.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, clients, and third-party inspectors.
