Alfa Laval Middle East Ltd. is looking for a specialist in procurement to support the business in the region of Middle East and South Africa. The primary focus of the role will be to handle indirect procurement of the company, making sure the purchases are compliant, cost effective and are according to the purchasing process.
The role will be responsible for the successful procurement of goods/ services starting from understanding the requirements of stake holders, develop RFQ, scout for vendors, review the offers, negotiate, place the order/ contract accomplishing the overall goals in terms of cost, compliance, time, and quality.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives
- Understand the requirement of the organization, stakeholders and work with the Regional Procurement Manager to prepare the budget and work with the procurement strategies.
- Analyse the past purchases, trends, and come up with best practices and tactics to fulfill the expectations
- Work with projects in the procurement, tools to manage the workflow, authorization etc.
- Develop plans for purchasing services and supplies, estimate and establish budgets for purchases, do cost analysis and report.
- Secure and manage right item codes in local ERP system, Order booking in ERP, communication to the stake holders.
- Focus and follow up on results related to strategic goals: DOT, QA and cost.
- Vendor Management, Review all suppliers and service providers, Rate, Analysis of the performance etc.
- Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Negotiate pricing and supply contracts.
- Ensure that the products and services meet AL quality standards.
- Enforce company procurement policy and process.
- Manage inventories/ assets.

What you can be?
- A bachelor’s degree or above in procurement related topics
a degree in science/ mathematics/ economics/ finance / accounting/ business with additional certification in procurement or supply chain.
- 5+ years of experience in similar role.
- Exposure working in any middle east country will be an added advantage.
- Well versed in procurement process
- Ability to negotiate.
- Knowledgeable in commercial aspects, good understanding of finance.
- Good understanding of contracts management
- Basic understanding of logistics/ shipping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to express ideas clearly both in written and verbal formats.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skillset
- Organised, methodical and ability to solve problems.
- Flair to work in a team.
- Ability to speak or understand Arabic language is a plus
