HVAC Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop HVAC systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings, considering factors such as building size, occupancy, climate, and budget constraints.
• Conduct heat load calculations, energy modeling, and airflow simulations to determine heating and cooling requirements and select appropriate HVAC equipment and components.
• Prepare detailed HVAC design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs and construction plans.
• Evaluate and select HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, pumps, and controls, based on performance, reliability, and lifecycle cost considerations.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure HVAC equipment and materials and ensure timely delivery and installation according to project schedules.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing HVAC systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend retrofit or upgrade solutions to improve efficiency and performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in HVAC design or engineering are preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in HVAC design, engineering, and project management, preferably in the building construction or consulting industry.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, or similar programs, and familiarity with energy modeling tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST) is required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, psychrometrics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, with expertise in heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
