The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager for WSP's Green Riyadh project will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all health, safety, and environmental protocols to ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices.

Your new role, what's involved?

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and procedures tailored to the project's specific needs, ensuring alignment with local regulations and international standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and environmental concerns. Promptly implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for project staff and subcontractors, ensuring all personnel receive necessary training and certifications relevant to their roles.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents and near-miss events, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
• Stay updated on Saudi Arabian HSE regulations and ensure the project's compliance with local laws and standards, including maintaining necessary permits and licenses.
• Develop and test emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring all project personnel are aware of their roles during emergencies and evacuation procedures.
• Implement strategies to minimize the project's environmental impact, including monitoring waste disposal, pollution control, and resource conservation efforts.
• Continuously assess and mitigate health, safety, and environmental risks associated with construction activities, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HSE activities, including incident reports, safety meetings, and compliance records. Provide regular HSE reports to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  
  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is desirable.
• Relevant Health and Safety Qualifications, such as NEBOSH International General Certificate or Safety, Health, and Environment for Construction Site Managers.
• Minimum of 8-15 years of experience as an HSE Manager in the construction industry, preferably with infrastructure projects
• In-depth understanding of local safety regulations, international standards (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO 14001), and best practices in construction safety management
• Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in conducting inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and preparing detailed reports.
• Must be registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers and hold a title related to HSE.
