Job Description: HSE Advisor

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently maintained across all projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This role is vital to upholding our commitment to workplace safety and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify that adequate safety arrangements are in place before any work activity begins to ensure the safety of all personnel involved.
  • Ensure that comprehensive risk assessments, safe method statements, and job-specific toolbox talks are prepared and provided to all working group members prior to starting work.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to evaluate potential workplace safety risks and recommend necessary actions to mitigate identified hazards.
  • Conduct training sessions covering safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper usage of equipment in order to reduce workplace incidents.
  • Ensure that all work permits are verified and that valid permits are present at the site at all times.
  • Highlight and initiate incident reports as required, escalating incidents to the HSE Manager and Project Manager when necessary.
  • Inspect all facilities and resources to ensure they are available, in good condition, and properly maintained at the site.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and readily available for employees' use.
  • Maintain up-to-date emergency arrangements and ensure that contact details are posted near work activities for quick access in case of emergencies.
  • Conduct weekly safety toolbox meetings, HSE meetings and deliver safety talks on selected topics relevant to ongoing and upcoming work.
  • Distribute updated codes of practice and safety requirements to all employees to ensure compliance with current standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Ensure that workers are fully aware of and consistently use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for their tasks.
  • Upload all inspection reports—including those related to vehicles, stores, camps, offices, and sites—as well as incident reports to the system for recordkeeping and review.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in engineering.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial safety supervision.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in safety supervision for SEC power plant maintenance projects.
