The British International School of Jeddah (BISJ) is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Science to lead our dynamic and dedicated Science Department in our Secondary Section.

The Head of Science will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, fostering collaboration, and ensuring excellence in teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This role requires a dedicated professional who can inspire both students and staff, drive innovation in science education, and maintain the highest academic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Science Department, fostering a cohesive and collaborative team culture.
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and delivery for Years 7–11 in collaboration with subject leads.
• Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Support staff development through mentoring, peer observations, and sharing best practices.
• Collaborate with leadership teams and Heads of Year to support student progress and behaviour management.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly adhered to in labs and science facilities.
• Act as a liaison between the Science Department and other school sections to ensure continuity in education.
• Promote science both within the school and the wider community through events, competitions, and social media.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and a teaching qualification.
• Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
• Strong understanding of science curricula, including IGCSE and IB programs.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
