The Role
Key Requirements Essential Qualifications: ? A bachelor’s degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. ? Postgraduate qualifications or leadership training (e.g., NPQSL, master’s degree) is an advantage. Experience: ? At least 5+ years of experience in pastoral care, safeguarding, or behavior leadership within an international school setting. ? Proven experience in managing teams and implementing successful student welfare and behavior strategies. ? Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. ? Previous experience working in Saudi Arabian schools is highly beneficial. Skills and Competencies: ? Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. ? Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students to achieve high standards. ? Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities. ? Knowledge of safeguarding policies, child protection procedures, and behavior management frameworks. ? Proficiency in analyzing data to monitor student progress and inform decisions. ? A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders.

- Lead the pastoral care team, including counsellors, supervisors, and support staff, to ensure high standards of student welfare. • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring effective safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented. • Promote a positive behavior culture by implementing and monitoring behavior management strategies. • Drive improvements in student attendance and punctuality, working closely with staff and parents. • Develop strong relationships with parents and the community, enhancing home-school partnerships, and keeping guardians informed about their child's progress and wellbeing. Collaborate with them to address any concerns and support the students’ development. • Act as a mentor and positive role model, demonstrating behaviors and attitudes that contribute to a healthy, productive, and respectful learning environment. Provide staff training, mentoring, and performance management to support their pastoral responsibilities. • Use data to inform decision-making and continuously monitor the effectiveness of pastoral and behavior programs. • Encourage participation in extracurricular activities that promote personal growth, teamwork, and a sense of belonging. Monitor their involvement to ensure a balanced approach to academics and other interests. • Implement programs that promote physical health, mental wellbeing, and healthy lifestyle choices. Educate students on the importance of maintaining a balanced life. • Respond to crises or emergencies that may affect students' wellbeing. Provide immediate support and follow-up to ensure their safety and recovery. • In liaison with the Head of learning, monitor academic progress and regularly assess and track students' academic performance, identifying areas where they may need additional support or resources. • In liaison with the Head of learning, oversee the implementation of personalized learning plans tailored to each student's needs, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance to achieve their academic goals. Regularly provides constructive feedback to students on their progress and encourages self-reflection to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
