Subsea7 is hiring a GL & Tax Accountant assists with the maintenance of accounting and tax records in compliance with local and group regulations in an efficient and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous compliance with all Finance policies, process and procedures and promote best practice.
- Ensure compliance and timeliness with statutory filing obligations, including VAT, WHT and annual tax return and that all transactions and taxes are recorded and reported in accordance with Subsea 7 statutory and local legal requirements.
- Assist in closing process (monthly, quarterly, and annually), including the collating of any required accounts, preparation of balance sheet reconciliation and providing financial input to presentations for use at management and board meeting.
- Assist in the preparation of IKTVA reporting and certification.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge in accounting standards and provide technical accounting support within the function.
- Monitor and recommend improvement in departmental controls and procedures.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors with regards to accounting issues and internal control over Financial Reporting.
- Contribute to the development of the Finance Function through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continuing professional training.
- Supporting the Finance manager in day-to-day financial operations.
Requirements & Qualities
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an accounting role
- Experience working in oil & gas or related industry
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact and coordinate with different team members in an international context.
- Strong excel and ERP system skills (preferably SAP S4)
- Self-starter with a solutions-oriented approach
- Degree in Accounting or related discipline with sound accounting knowledge
- Professionally qualified (CIMA, ACCA , VAT specialist or equivalent)
