Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented GIS Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to be part of a dynamic team delivering excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) principles, techniques, and analyses for example, master plans, infrastructure and transportation networks
  • Create, maintains, updates, and reviews GIS databases in support of various projects.
  • Produce detailed maps providing spatial analysis to inform decision-making processes.
  • Develop custom GIS applications to the support team.
  • Draft special provisions and reviews for system and database for compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members and contributing to training manuals/videos for GIS software.


What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, GIS, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in GIS, preferably in an urban planning context.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge, awareness, and understanding of GIS software/database packages.
  • Skilled in assisting with the utilization of web services and mobile applications.
  • Ability to automate tasks, customize functionalities, and perform complex spatial analyses
  • Skilled in utilizing model builders and customized tools.
  • Flexibility and ability to work to tight deadlines.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • PMP Certification
  • KSA Driving License
  • Experience of working in multicultural and multidisciplined environment
  • Knowledge of urban planning principles and practices is a plus.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for GIS automation and analysis.
