Geotechnical Lab Technician

Job Description

Job Summary

Has technical responsibility for the geotechnical projects by conducting laboratory tests on soil, rock and other geological materials; all in accordance with Company procedures, Health and Safety and Quality policies.

Key Responsibilities

1- Sample Collection and Preparation

• Collect and prepare soil and rock samples for laboratory testing in accordance with the standard procedures.
  
  
  

2- Laboratory Testing

• Perform geotechnical tests such as
• Grain Size Analysis
• Atterberg Limits
• Proctor Compaction
• California Bearing Test
• Permeability Test
• Unconfined Compression Test
• Compressibility and Shear Strength Test
• Soil Index Test
• Rock Testing
• Advanced Geotechnical Testing
  
  

3- Data Handling

• Record, analyze, and interpret test results
• Prepare detailed lab reports and communicate findings to engineer and laboratory manager.
• Calibrate, maintain and operate geotechnical lab equipment in accordance with ASTM/BS/ISO standards.
