About The Role
At OMQ, the General Accountant plays a vital role in managing daily financial records and ensuring the accuracy of accounting operations across all departments. This position handles journal entries, expenses, revenues, and bank reconciliations, while ensuring all transactions comply with approved accounting standards.

At OMQ, the General Accountant plays a vital role in managing daily financial records and ensuring the accuracy of accounting operations across all departments. This position handles journal entries, expenses, revenues, and bank reconciliations, while ensuring all transactions comply with approved accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record all journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Review expense and revenue documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Issue client invoices and follow up on collections regularly.
- Monitor client account balances and resolve discrepancies in coordination with relevant teams.
- Review supplier invoices and verify alignment with contracts and purchase orders.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of balances.
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts periodically and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly reports on expenses, revenues, and balances of customers and suppliers.
- Support the preparation of annual and analytical reports for senior management.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tax declarations on schedule.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary data and documentation.
- Organize and archive accounting records both electronically and in hard copy as per internal policies.
- Contribute to improving financial procedures and minimizing recurring errors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting or within multi-project/service-based companies.
- Prior experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax handling is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in using accounting systems or ERP platforms (e.g., Odoo).
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Good understanding of tax laws and Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and financial analysis abilities.
- Language: Fluent in Arabic – Good command of English.
