The Tax Function is responsible for all of tax affairs of the group worldwide. Its successful management has a significant impact on net profit, earning per share and cash flow. The objective of the Tax Function is to deliver the highest quality and most business oriented tax services, on a timely manner and in a proactive way.
In line with Finance team, the Tax Function missions are:
GCC Tax manager (based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) is responsible for all tax affairs in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates & Qatar.
Provide reporting to Country Finance Director & AMECA Tax Director and request approvals when necessary

The Tax Function is responsible for all of tax affairs of the group worldwide. Its successful management has a significant impact on net profit, earning per share and cash flow. The objective of the Tax Function is to deliver the highest quality and most business oriented tax services, on a timely manner and in a proactive way.
In line with Finance team, the Tax Function missions are:
- To be the guardian of the rules, ensuring proper compliance with regards to direct and indirect taxes (including in GCC countries, the filing of the tax returns and the related payments) and the implementation of a robust and consistent transfer pricing policy;
- To be a recognized business partner by supporting key business initiatives, optimizing business changes and managing tax risks;
- To deliver sustainable financial results year on year, by appropriately managing the GCC countries effective rates and cash tax out in close coordination with the country finance teams;
- To develop and enhance the understanding of the relevant country tax rules by other functions (Customs, logistics, procurement, etc), support the implementation of tax and transfer pricing processes on new projects.

Key responsibilities:
The role includes all Tax matters to be handled across Saudi Arabia, Qatar & UAE.
- Leading Annual CIT fillings, Transfer Pricing Compliance, Monthly VAT & WHT fillings for Alstom entities.
- Implementation of new Regulations & impact assessments for Alstom entities.
- Leading Alstom's Internal Control drives related to Tax, co-ordinating with External Auditors on Tax queries & filing Statutory FS within the Tax Regulatory deadlines.
- Co-ordinating with Tax Consultants, preparing strategies for Regulatory hearings, responses to queries on all open Tax Audits.
- Preparing strategies to optimize Tax cash out for the Countries. Forecasting expected Tax cash based on the visibility needed by the Region.
- Ensuring proper documentation in accordance with the relevant Tax laws and suggesting mitigation plans for all risks associated.
- Raise other Alstom functions’ awareness on tax topics (Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Project Management, HR), especially on new regulations, best practices and review of existing processes.
- Developing Tax Accountant to handle ZATCA portal and support on tax compliance.
- Ensure review and coordination with respective countries of tax impact linked to changes in legislation
- Ensure good implementation and controlling of Transfer Pricing (TP)
- Monitoring compliance with local TP regulations
- Ensure accurate tax reporting (Tax Proof + Cash tax)
- Promote, evaluate tax planning opportunities, using government incentives or others alternatives available in the market
- Co-manage (with accounting) Tax audits and due diligences.
- Mapping and anticipation of Risk
- Compliance on due time
EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES & REQUIRED COMPETENCES
Educational Requirements
Mandatory:
University degree/ Master degree in Accounting /Taxation
Graduate in Accounting, Business & Administration
Experience
Mandatory:
- Min 5 years of experience in tax environment in multinational companies
- Arabic is a must & fluency in English
- Good analytical thinking, strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Experience in Infrastructure/Project Companies (preferred)
- The ability to interpret and explain complex legislation to non-specialists
