JOB SUMMARY:
Oversee all aspects of gateway operations, including inbound and outbound logistics, cargo
handling, customs clearance, and compliance with security protocols.
Ensure the timely and efficient processing of shipments through the gateway, coordinating
with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies as needed.
Monitor and track gateway performance metrics, such as throughput, turnaround times,
and service levels, and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency
and productivity.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for station compliance of all safety & security regulations and requirements pertaining to the station, facilities, equipment and personnel.
- Responsible for achieving all ground operations and corporate goals related to performance, safety, service, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensures all employees are aware of station and corporate goals and expectations.
- Required training provisions for all employees assigned to the station based on airport authority requirement.
- Oversee the Cargo terminal’s ongoing operations to ensure that terminal loading/unloading of the Cargo meets all company’s SOP and governmental policies and regulations and that customers receive quality service.
- Full responsibility of the transit time on the facility from shipment arrival up to shipment releasement from the Gateway, including all customs clearance Activities in both IRS & Air Clearance. With proper escalations in case of any issue occurred based on escalation matrix.
- Monitors & maintains all station contracts & SLAs.
- Monitors and evaluates work performance of all employees assigned to the station.
- Interfaces with local airport authorities (GACA, ZATCA & Airport Company) to ensure company compliance with all local policies & regulations.
- Ensures monthly reports are submitted to local airport authorities as required.Submits an operating budget and operates within that budget.Highly proficient in keeping costs optimized of station operations at a minimum & optimum.
- Ensure all customs duty & invoice payment activities are submitted on time with no failure.
- Ability to travel to support new or ongoing operations based on work requirements.
- Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Periodic Maintenance program to be monitored properly for all the available Equipment with the compliance of airport standards & regulations.
- Monitor all customs clearance activities related to the station.Attending all required meetings conducted by airport Authorities.
- Proper resource planning & management prior to each peak season.
- Preparation & passing all external audits conducted by the airport authority.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field required; master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, PMP) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in gateway operations, logistics management, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of international trade, customs procedures, and regulatory requirements governing gateway operations, particularly in the transportation and logistics industry.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team of employees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify issues, a analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management systems and software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
