Purpose of Job
Jobholders at this level are responsible for leading work activities and working autonomously with minor direction towards predetermined long-term objectives.
Jobholders oversee the implementation of operational plans and the provision of significant improvements to set policies, procedures, standards and reports.
Their main operational role includes the collaboration with firefighting service providers, monitoring firefighting programs and the execution of firefighting awareness, drills and activities ensuring readiness, preparedness and quick intervention in case on any incident.

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research and benchmark studies to identify latest firefighting best practices and market trends to upgrade ZATCA’s firefighting standards and systems
- Develop Fire Protection and Fire Fighting general guidelines based on local/international standards to consolidate firefighting/protection practices among all ZATCA facilities
- Conduct field studies to assess ZATCA’s needs in firefighting counter measures and protection systems and identify needed corrective actions
- Plan firefighting awareness sessions, training programs tailored for ZATCA employees to enhance firefighting awareness and reduce potential incidents
- Conduct internal capabilities and resource assessment to identify needs for outsourced service providers ensuring a complete coverage of firefighting related activities
- Initiate firefighting programs implementation by scheduling all related activities to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are involved
- Conduct fire drills and simulation activities based on set schedule to evaluate site evacuation effectiveness and personnel first respond reaction to a potential fire incident
- Monitor and analyze fire incidents and accidents, investigate the causes to take preventive and corrective measures
- Assess and evaluate firefighting program implementation effectiveness at all ZATCA’s facilities on a regular basis to ensure alignment between implementation and program plan
- Monitor outsourced service providers performance to guarantee proper implementation of activities based on required capabilities and tasks
- Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
- Help in solving escalated problems and provide needed support for junior team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner
- Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly
- Perform other duties as requested
- Train junior staff on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable
- Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/ junior staff
- Support junior staff or direct reports in order to execute their duties according to set policies and processes
Communication and Contacs
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in fire science or public health or equivalent is required
- Master’s degree in occupational health, or business administration or equivalent is preferred
