Your new role, what's involved?
We are seeking an experienced Field Traffic and Detour Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience, specifically in interface management roles within the consultancy sector, with a strong background in site supervision for projects such as roads, tunnels, bridges, and highways.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement field traffic management plans, including detour routes, traffic control measures, and signage, to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow during construction activities.
- Conduct site assessments and traffic impact assessments to identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities related to traffic management.
- Coordinate with project teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address traffic-related requirements and concerns.
- Review and approve traffic management plans, drawings, and specifications prepared by contractors and subcontractors.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of traffic management measures during construction, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with traffic management plans and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and field staff on traffic management and detour procedures.
- Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals for temporary traffic control measures.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on field traffic management activities and performance.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in traffic engineering or civil engineering roles within the consultancy sector, with a focus on site supervision for infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical expertise in traffic management, detour planning, and temporary traffic control measures.
- Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
- Experience working with traffic management software and tools (e.g., VISSIM, AutoTURN).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional licensure or certification in traffic engineering is advantageous.
- Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region is preferred.
