Job Description

Parsons is seeking an accomplished and visionary Executive Director - Asset Management – Oceanarium to lead the strategic planning, operational management, and optimization of assets for a world-class Oceanarium project.

In this critical leadership role, the Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the long-term sustainability, operational excellence, and financial performance of the Oceanarium. The role will focus on developing and implementing advanced asset management strategies, driving revenue growth, and aligning operations with the client’s vision of establishing the Oceanarium as a premier global destination for marine education, conservation, and entertainment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in asset management within large-scale marine, leisure, or entertainment facilities, a proven track record in business growth, and expertise in stakeholder engagement, financial planning, and market analysis. This is a unique opportunity to lead the asset management strategy for a landmark project and contribute to its global success.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute comprehensive asset management strategies to optimize the performance, sustainability, and value of the Oceanarium’s assets.
  • Provide visionary leadership to cross-functional teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Represent the Oceanarium at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote its brand and attract investment opportunities.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure cost-effective management and revenue optimization.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government entities, investors, conservation organizations, and community leaders.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment with project objectives and budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the marine and leisure sectors.
  • Develop strategies to position the Oceanarium competitively in regional and international markets.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on asset performance, financial outcomes, and strategic initiatives for executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure accountability.
  • Implement advanced technologies and systems to improve asset tracking, reporting, and operational management.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of all Oceanarium assets, including maintenance, upgrades, and capital improvements.
  • Ensure alignment with the client’s vision of transforming the Oceanarium into a globally recognized marine destination.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of high-profile events, exhibitions, and initiatives that enhance the Oceanarium’s reputation and revenue streams.
  • Monitor and evaluate environmental sustainability practices, ensuring alignment with green building standards and marine conservation goals.

What Required Skills / Qualifications You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marine sciences, asset management, engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of +25 years of experience in asset management.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale marine, leisure, or entertainment projects, preferably Oceanariums or similar venues.
  • Extensive knowledge of asset lifecycle management, including maintenance, upgrades, and capital planning.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, and revenue optimization strategies.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, including working with government entities, investors, and conservation organizations.
  • Familiarity with international standards and regulations related to asset management and operations.
  • Expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies for large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in market analysis and identifying trends in the marine and leisure sectors.
  • Advanced knowledge of asset management systems, data analytics tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to sustainability and marine conservation best practices in asset management.
  • Professional certifications in asset management, project management, or related fields (e.g., PMP, RICS, or similar) are highly desirable.
