Role scope
Have oversight of multiple projects as well as the day-to-day construction management and site execution of the EPC project portfolio within KSA, implementing plans and policies to achieve the overall objectives to insure maximum operating results. Has the responsibility and authority to ensure that the project meets the company’s safety and quality standards. Will work within the Home Office ensuring the engineering and procurement aspects align with the construction execution methodology including all necessary shutdown requirements. and will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of site works.

Details / responsibilities
- Plans, manages, and controls construction activities on the assigned project, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and trade contractor and supplier coordination
- Assist in the recruitment of Construction personnel for the assigned project(s)
- Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action
- Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and all personnel
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate the performance and activities of the assigned construction personnel to ensure quality completion of construction services assignments on time and within budget limits
- Coordinate and control all construction management activities, including scheduling and claims administration, job progress monitoring and job coordination with multiple contractors for the assigned project
- Provide internal consultation to construction representatives in project offices and acts as a technical resource to other function groups within the company
- Review government regulation to provide consultation that reflect an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of legal requirements
- Employs organisational skills that effectively minimise obstacles that negatively impact the project
- When obstacles arise, employ sound decision making/problem solving skills to resolve the issue
- Direct and monitor strategic plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives
- Recognise the responsibilities charged to the managerial position and the significant impact they have on profit or loss, ultimately influencing corporate success or failure
- Assist in estimating and preparing proposals, developing bid strategies, estimates, techniques, etc. Reviews final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation and presentation
- Provide technical direction in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc., as required
- Manage and administer the Construction personnel assigned to the project, including budgets, staffing, work assignments performance evaluations, etc.
- Successfully integrates technical, business, and human objectives to achieve desired results
- Plan, staff, and supervise all project activities through subordinates to insure a cohesive operational unit
- Supervision of Superintendents, Quality Manager, HSSE Manager, Project Controls Manager, Materials Control Manager, Subcontracts Manager
- Internal working relations with Project Management and Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Corporate Functions, and Embedded teams
- While on construction sites and in the development of relationships with clients, work towards continuing to source ongoing work for the Company.
- Call a preparatory meeting before construction on site begins. This should normally be held on site where it is practical to do so.
- The meeting will agree a detailed programme covering all aspects of the progression of the project; this will include a detailed timetable for project completion
- Allocates Construction Managers to specific EPC projects
- Allocates Project Engineers to specific EPC projects
- Discuss and assess problems encountered by the staff on site
- Assess need for additional and input of labour, supervision and equipment during the course of construction
- Ensure that methods of work are up to date, efficient and in accordance with company and client safety policies and Health and Safety
- Ensure that developments on site which under the terms of the contract document requires of the contract document require special evaluation and assessment are correctly identified and appropriate action taken
- Coordinate and direct construction works and subcontractors
- Ensure construction/installation keeps budget/plan
- Investigate and account for any deviations from budget man-hours
- Ensure exporting and control procedures are operated correctly on all sites under your control
- Ensure construction organisation is adequate, that staff at all levels understanding their role and responsibilities and that effective delegation takes place
- Establish and maintain good relationships with clients
- Report to the Project Manager, on all aspects of construction in a detail and at intervals as determined by him
- Ensure compliance with the functional authority of the Project Manager, where this portion has been filled
- Keep up to date in developments in contracting.
- Advice the Project Manager as requested on any desirable changes in methods of work or on work practice and control
- Set and example of loyalty, enthusiasm and hard work in the performance of all duties
- Responsible for Safety under the OH & S
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Project Management Professional certification ) OR extensive construction experience (a minimum of 15 years) related to the oil & gas industry, or demonstrated equivalent via experience
- Demonstrated ability to put the Health and Safety of stakeholders at the forefront and translate into daily communication and action
- Experience working with environmental regulations as they pertain to the oil & gas industry
- Prior direct experience in managing EPC, EPCM projects up to $250 million
- Upstream, Downstream Petrochemical, New Energy or related experience including global understanding of the industry
- MS Office (Excel and Word) proficiency will be needed
- Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal/rapport building skills necessary to work effectively as a team member, and to plan/coordinate processes for results
- Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner
- Works autonomously without direct supervision
- Must be able to work within the rigors of project execution and create an environment of trust and sound decision-making
