Environmental Specialist

Job Purpose:

Support the development of Sadara environmental and environmental policies and programs in a specific environmental focus area (i.e. air, water, waste). Directs the implementation of policies and programs to prevent financial loss and personal injury and environmental noncompliance in areas valued in excess of thirty billion dollars.

Functional Duties:

-Assure adherence and consistency in overall program standards and advises Sadara’s management on their effectiveness.

-Maintain Sadara’s license to operate in their area of focus.

-Act as technical expert in his area of expertise.

-Plan, schedule, and provide work direction to teams formed to implement and monitor Sadara-wide environmental policies and compliance within their focus area (i.e. air, water, waste).

-Formulate the basis for environmental studies in any of several basic or special environmental fields by analyzing and evaluating all data pertinent to the problems. Evaluates data as to scope, effect on the existing environment, economic impact, and long range planning and budgetary considerations.

-Initiate detailed work studies and determines basic approach, processes and/or equipment for environmental inspections, monitoring sampling, and evaluating measurements.

-Consolidate all elements of environmental research and data analysis, ascertaining that all elements are coordinated properly in terms of scope, manning and schedule, and initiates corrective action as required.

-Develop advanced professional and scientific methodology to be employed to identify and evaluate environmental hazards.

-Advise Sadara leaders on the risks of managing hazards.

-Develop and monitors the effectiveness of intervention strategies.

Education:

Essential: Bachelor Degree in Science or equivalent.
