Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to play a key role within the SAPL Qiddiya Infrastructure Partner (QIDP). Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all work is in full coordination with Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC). QIC is providing strategic direction on a city-wide basis. Reports directly to the Project Director.

Position Overview

As an environmental manager, you'll ensure that the Cliff Stabilization project operates in line with KSA and QIC environmental guidelines and targets. This involves assessing activities to identify areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies to promote sustainable practices, including conducting audits and assessments, identifying and resolving environmental issues, and ensuring necessary changes are implemented.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development
  • Take the lead on sustainable procurement for all goods and services
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy
  • Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with KSA environmental regulation and legislation
  • Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies
  • Audit, analyze and report environmental performance to client and regulatory bodies
  • Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization’s environmental risks and financial costs
  • Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues
  • Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical and social responsibility and address any issues arising
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of project activities on the environment
  • Manage relations with the wider QIC environmental team
  • Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities
  • Participating in environmental education and research
  • Write environmental reports, assuming lead responsibility in the company
  • Set organizational sustainability targets, develop plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.

Supervision Given – Contractor and supervision consultant environmental CAD Drafter/Designers; Designers; Lower-level Engineers ,internal Contacts - All employees on project External Contacts - Suppliers; Clients

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering (or related field) and typically 10+ years of related work experience, familiarity with environmental standards and procedures. Professional Engineer registration may be required.

Skills/Competencies

Potential to perform in an environmental manager capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology , environmental standards and be able to select and apply appropriate environmental engineering software for use on project.
