Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Engineering Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee all engineering activities within the organization, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring the successful completion of projects.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to deliver engineering solutions that meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a passion for innovation, process improvement, and project execution.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure team members are aligned with organizational goals and project timelines.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure that project requirements, timelines, and resources are clearly defined.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, risk management plans, and resource allocation to meet project objectives.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company’s business goals and objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase quality.
- Drive innovation in engineering practices, ensuring the team stays up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve engineering challenges, providing effective solutions that minimize delays and ensure project success.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects of engineering projects, liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including R&D, operations, and product management, to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts across projects.
- Work with senior management to align engineering initiatives with the overall strategic goals of the organization.
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams, vendors, and clients, ensuring that project expectations are met and exceeded.
- Manage engineering resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilization and project efficiency.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new engineering team members.
- Ensure that the engineering team has the necessary tools, technologies, and infrastructure to perform effectively.
- Develop project budgets and monitor spending to ensure that projects stay within financial constraints.
- Analyze cost performance and recommend strategies to reduce engineering costs while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Track and report on project expenses, making adjustments as needed to maintain financial performance.
- Ensure that all engineering work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Develop and enforce quality assurance procedures to ensure that engineering solutions meet customer requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of engineering processes to ensure adherence to regulatory and quality requirements.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Ensure that all engineering documentation is maintained, including designs, specifications, and reports.
- Prepare and present technical reports to clients, stakeholders, and leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or similar) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams, managing cross-functional projects, and delivering engineering solutions.
- Experience with project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the industry (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Deep understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or PE (Professional Engineer).
- Experience in managing large-scale or complex engineering projects.
- Knowledge of Lean, Agile, or other project management methodologies.
- Experience in budget forecasting, cost control, and resource management.
- Familiarity with the latest advancements in engineering technology and trends.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align engineering strategies with organizational goals.
