Job Purpose

Jobs at this level are responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Emerging Verticals business unit. The role holder shall drive innovation, identify new business opportunities, and develop tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of emerging verticals. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Advanced Industry Solutions plans, in line with the corporate objectives.
  • Directs and manages the Emerging Verticals Business Development mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes to achieve high performance standards.
  • Manages and controls change in the Emerging Verticals Business Development, providing guidance and support necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards within the Emerging Verticals Business Development.

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify and leverage industry trends to drive innovation and differentiation for stc Business in the emerging verticals space
  • Develop technical and business knowledge in emerging verticals space
  • Develop the emerging verticals strategies and identify prioritized use cases
  • Develop highly tailored, industry-specific solutions that address unique challenges and opportunities within each emerging vertical
  • Detail value propositions for prioritized use cases including go-to-market approach
  • Drive identified opportunities to mature stages (concept customization, technical architecture, pitching, business case, PoC)
  • Establish partnerships and alliances with technology providers and innovators to co-develop advanced solutions in alignment with S&P
  • Identify PPPs and strategic opportunities (equity partnerships, SPVs) relevant to the emerging verticals space in alignment with Business Diversification and S&P
  • Analyze and recommend Industry value chain plays in the emerging verticals space
  • Identify M&A requirements and potential acquisitions targets and support as needed throughout the due diligence phase in collaboration with Growth team
  • Coordinate with other departments during concept definition (e.g., Sales, Digital Services Management, Subsidiaries) and share relevant outputs (e.g., market feedback and ideas for new services with Digital Services Management)
  • Act as an industry think-tank in developing sector-specific knowhow
  • Onboard and continuously upskills BD resources in sales teams on the sector strategies, trends, new concepts, and GTM approaches
  • Utilize advanced analytics to derive insights and optimize industry-specific solutions
  • Develop market understanding and assess impact on industry market
  • Engage with industry bodies and forums to enhance stc Business’s industry presence and influence
  • Develop relevant content and thought leadership material based on the sectoral expertise

People Management Responsibilities

  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for members of the team and ensures effective application of the performance management process.
  • Directs planning and selection of manpower in the Emerging Verticals Business Development, in line with the business and operational plans.
  • Ensures a high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the Emerging Verticals Business Development.

Performs other responsibilities and tasks related to the job as directed by line manager
