About The Opportunity:

The EW Specialist will support the Critical Defence project by providing subject matter expertise in the planning, coordination, and execution of Electronic Warfare operations. This role involves integrating EW capabilities into operational planning, maintaining EW systems, and ensuring effective use of the electromagnetic spectrum in support of mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support:

  • Plan and execute Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP), and Electronic Warfare Support (ES) activities.
  • Integrate EW operations into mission planning and execution phases.
  • Coordinate spectrum deconfliction with communications and IT teams.

Technical Expertise:

  • Operate and maintain EW systems including Direction Finding (DF), Special Purpose Electronic Attack (SPEA), and CREW systems.
  • Conduct system diagnostics, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance.
  • Evaluate technical intelligence data and generate EW threat briefs.

Training & Coordination:

  • Provide EW training and guidance to project personnel and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain EW SOPs and operational appendices.
  • Liaise with military and civilian partners to ensure interoperability and mission alignment.

Strategic Planning:

  • Support the development of Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) plans.
  • Participate in targeting meetings and contribute to EW input for operational orders.
  • Assess risks, vulnerabilities, and recommend countermeasures.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience in Electronic Warfare operations (military or defense sector preferred).
  • Familiarity with EW systems and electromagnetic spectrum management.
  • Strong understanding of MDMP (Military Decision Making Process) and targeting processes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply intelligence data to operational planning.
  • Security clearance (e.g., UK SC or equivalent) may be required depending on role scope.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with joint or multinational EW operations.
  • Knowledge of cyber-electromagnetic integration.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
