Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to ensuring the effective design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems critical to airport operations, working to meet safety standards, operational needs, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll be Doing;

  • Design, develop, and oversee the installation of electrical systems and infrastructure for the airport, including lighting, power distribution, emergency power, and communication systems.
  • Ensure all electrical systems are compliant with industry standards, regulations, and airport-specific safety protocols.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of all electrical systems at the airport, including critical power systems and airport-specific equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth airport operations.
  • Work closely with airport operations teams to ensure that electrical systems meet the specific needs of airport facilities such as terminals, runways, baggage handling systems, and air traffic control.
  • Assist in managing airport infrastructure upgrades and renovations, ensuring minimal disruption to airport activities.
  • Ensure all electrical systems comply with local, national, and international electrical codes and regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards within electrical systems.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and ensure that all emergency systems (e.g., backup generators) are fully functional.
  • Oversee and manage electrical engineering projects within the airport, from design to execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical systems, maintenance activities, and project documentation.
  • Prepare reports and technical documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.



  • What Required Skills You'll Bring;

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, preference in airport infrastructure or a similar large-scale, critical environment.
    • Proven experience in designing and maintaining electrical systems for high-traffic environments such as airports, industrial facilities, or commercial buildings.
    • In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power distribution systems, and safety protocols.
    • Familiarity with airport-specific systems such as runway lighting, baggage handling systems, and aviation communication systems.
    • Experience with electrical design software and AutoCAD.
    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., NEC, IEC, FAA regulations).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
    • Experience with building information modeling (BIM) or 3D electrical design tools.
