About Role

We are seeking a high-performance Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering team at Solutions. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in managing and mentoring the engineering team, providing crucial guidance on project planning, product design, and staff development. You will excel in aligning taxonomy groups, exploring new markets, overseeing project execution, and setting and implementing engineering standards within the organization. What You’ll Do

  • Manages and mentors the Engineering teams working on various projects across different sectors with different clients. Provides guidance and leadership to the team.
  • Facilitate the alignment of taxonomy groups towards shared objectives, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and vet new solution opportunities, supporting the identification of emerging markets and use cases to drive strategic growth.
  • Organize and manage projects meticulously, developing detailed plans to achieve specific objectives within set timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of technology, organizational resources, and market demands to devise practical project strategies and procedures.
  • Manage the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment, making sure they are executed by the personnel responsible.
  • Direct the evaluation and confirmation of product design and changes, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Supervise the development and maintenance of staff abilities and suitability in the organization.
  • Set scientific and technical goals in the confines of the organization with the aid of management.
  • Engage in client consultations and negotiations to coordinate resource allocation.
  • Setup schemes or designs, and also elaborate reports and results to clients.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the organization.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS from a top school in Computer Science or any related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, preferable B2B software, and services. Experience with a growing startup or mid-size companies is preferred.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to convey technical solutions to the end-user and the engineering team.
  • Solid experience of multiple programming languages with a demonstrated drive to learn and progress in the technical skill and nuanced art of development.
  • Ability to explain sophisticated system issues.
  • Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles.
  • Experience with the integration of data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB.
  • Ability to work with a large interdisciplinary team on modeling complex engineering problems within an optimization framework.
