Duties And Responsibilities
Financial Returns
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for all event and catering operations.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses while maximizing profitability through strategic upselling and waste reduction.
- Develop pricing strategies and negotiate food & beverage packages, venue rentals, and external catering services in line with brand standards.
- Track revenue and performance targets, ensuring alignment with business goals and proactively identifying opportunities to increase sales.
- Lead and inspire a team of catering and event managers, coordinators, and support staff.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and foster career growth through mentorship and training.
- Ensure staff are well-versed in health & safety, service standards, and operational procedures.
- Promote collaboration with culinary, banquet, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth execution of every event.
- Act as a liaison between the venue and key clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Oversee all event details from initial inquiry to post-event feedback, ensuring a flawless and personalized guest journey.
- Create detailed event proposals, resumes, and banquet event orders (BEOs) that reflect client expectations and venue capabilities.
- Conduct venue tours and client consultations, advising on menu selections, décor, AV needs, entertainment, and logistics.
- Personally handle high-profile and VIP events to ensure service excellence and client satisfaction.
- Lead pre- and post-event meetings to ensure every function is executed to the highest standard, capturing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Represent the venue at local networking events, trade shows, and community activities to build the brand’s reputation and generate leads.
- Drive sustainability initiatives by guiding clients toward eco-conscious options in décor, food service, and waste reduction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements for food and beverage service.
- Perform other duties as assigned. May serve as Manager on Duty as required.

Qualifications And Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in event planning, catering sales, or hospitality management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Hospitality degree or equivalent required.
- Proven track record of managing successful events and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong client relationship and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and event/catering management systems (e.g., Opera Sales & Catering or similar platforms).
- Creative, solutions-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
