Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function. This includes overseeing all transactional activities related to asset management, treasury, and the general ledger. The role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial records through meticulous maintenance of the general ledger and precise recording of journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and corrections.

Strategic Oversight
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function. This includes overseeing all transactional activities related to asset management, treasury, and the general ledger. The role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial records through meticulous maintenance of the general ledger and precise recording of journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and corrections.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Strategic Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the accounting tower, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the accounting function, ensuring the achievement of KPI and SLA targets.
- Develop and enforce robust internal controls over Fixed Assets (FA), Treasury, and General Ledger (GL) functions to ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and audit requirements.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, such as cash, inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances, collaborating with other departments as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of reconciliations, preparing necessary documentation for audit purposes
- Oversee the strategic and financial management of the company’s physical and intangible assets, including acquisition, valuation, depreciation, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations related to asset management.
- Prepare regular reports on cash flow, investment performance, and treasury operations for management review.
- Execute on payment instructions with banking partners.
- Coordinate with Finance teams for payment matching and support bank reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks related to fixed assets, treasury, and general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate with senior leaders across various departments, including procurement, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for fixed assets, treasury, and general ledger activities.
- Foster strong working relationships to enhance overall financial management.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Ensure the development of team members through on-the-job experiences, setting quality development goals, and facilitating meaningful career conversations.
- Undertake any other tasks requested by leadership in line with business needs.
- Adapt to evolving business requirements and contribute to various projects as needed.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting , or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
