Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager Buildings/Assets to join our team! In this role you will perform conventional and highly-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable.
- Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
- Conduct performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel.
- Provide technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants. This may include obtaining the services of consultants.
- Promote technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.
- Ensure that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures. Ensures that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and Engineers from other disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from recognized university with 20 years experience in an engineering/consulting environment
- Experience in preparation of project related correspondence, technical specifications and reports.
- Skills to Communicate with client representatives, deal with government agencies and authorities, and other engineering teams on the project.
- Good knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.
- Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific software for use in completing architectural design assignments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of management.
- Proven ability for managing a large and diverse group of personnel within field of expertise and providing direction for resolving complex work assignments.
- Proven track record of coordinating and delivering large scale projects.
- A professional license from a recognized licensing or registration board.
- Advise engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could effect project completion and/or profitability.
- Maintain affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
