Job Overview

As a Design Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, you will leverage your expertise to develop and implement effective engineering designs and optimize systems, components, and processes related to natural gas extraction, transportation, and distribution. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design natural gas systems and components, including pipelines, compressors, valves, and storage facilities.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Lead and manage design projects from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, construction teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare project schedules, budgets, and reports.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects.
  • Perform technical calculations and simulations to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot design issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure all designs meet environmental and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards in the natural gas industry.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of designs.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on materials and components used in projects.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any design-related issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improving design processes and methodologies.
  • Stay informed about advancements in technology and industry best practices.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, specifically in the areas of natural gas (NG), (LPG), or (SNG).
  • Engineering Master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients and team members.
  • Excellent customer focus and a dedication to meeting the needs of stakeholders.
  • Proven time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Innovative thinking to develop new solutions and approaches to engineering challenges.
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate project requirements and constraints rigorously.
  • High reliability and adaptability in a dynamic working environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in all engineering designs and documentation.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within diverse teams.
  • Initiative to independently drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
