Department Head - Internal Audit

Robert Walters has partnered with one of the largest companies in the Middle East. They are looking to bring in a Saudi National for a Department Head of Internal Audit role to lead the internal audit function for a major business unit .

They are looking for qualified candidates with 12+ years of experience within internal audit and strong leadership experience and a background of leading an internal audit department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop department strategy in line with Sector Strategy and business line strategy at large to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal incorporation.
• Lead and manage the audit department in accordance with approved audit strategy and objectives.
• Assess risks and design and implement risk-based audit engagements as approved in the annual audit plan to assess internal controls to mitigate risk, and assist the executive director in the preparation of periodic internal audit reports to the Chief Audit Executive (CAE), management and the audit committee.
• Support executive director in collaboration with relevant BLs to update the audit universe, identify new risks to incorporate in the risk assessment/risk registers and the annual preparation of the audit plan.
• Liaise with other BLs within the company, to identify and evaluate new relevant methodologies, procedures and technologies and make recommendations on opportunities to improve the processes (advisory engagements).
• Oversee, and undertake special projects as agreed with management.
