Job Summary:

The Demi Chef de Partie assists in managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. This role requires culinary skills, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Food Preparation:
    • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standards.
    • Ensure all ingredients are prepped and ready for service, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
    • Assist in developing new recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Section Management:
    • Oversee the assigned section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations during service.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
    • Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the Chef de Partie to execute menu items and ensure quality control.
    • Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure a cohesive workflow.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving kitchen operations.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all dishes are presented according to the restaurant’s standards and specifications.
    • Conduct taste tests and quality checks on food items to maintain flavor and presentation.
  • Training and Mentoring:
    • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
    • Provide guidance on culinary techniques and food preparation standards.
Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Commis Chef or in a similar position.
    • Experience in high-volume kitchens or fine dining establishments is a plus.
