- Data Modeling : Creating logical and physical data models that define how data is organized within the data warehouse. They develop both star and snowflake schemas depending on business needs, ensuring models are optimized for querying and reporting.
- Performance Optimization : Ensuring that data retrieval is efficient and meets the performance requirements of the business by optimizing query execution, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
- Collaboration : Working closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
- Data Quality and Governance : Maintaining the quality, consistency, and accuracy of data stored in the warehouse by implementing data governance best practices.
- Tools and Technologies : Expertise in data warehousing tools like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, and ETL tools like Informatica or Talend. Proficiency in SQL, and sometimes Python or Java, for handling data.
