Data Visualization Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Visualization Engineer to join our data platform team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain interactive data visualizations and dashboards that empower business decisions. You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders, leveraging our technology stack including Apache Superset, JupyterHub, Python, Spark, SQL, and various databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain advanced interactive dashboards and reports using Apache Superset.
• Utilize Python and JupyterHub for exploratory data analysis, prototyping visualizations, and sharing insights.
• Write efficient and scalable SQL queries to prepare data for visualization.
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate and optimize data pipelines supporting analytics and visualization.
• Apply best practices in data visualization and UX to present complex datasets clearly and intuitively.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate data into actionable visual insights.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data visualization engineering, data analytics, or business intelligence.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Superset or similar BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
• Proficiency in Python, including libraries for data manipulation and visualization.
• Solid experience with SQL for data preparation and processing.
• Familiarity with JupyterHub or similar notebook environments.
• Deep understanding of data visualization principles, chart types, and UI/UX best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, or cloud-native) is a plus.
