Job Description

This job holder is responsible for the strategic oversight of Soudah Development's contracts, ensuring the proper use of contract terms and conditions. The role includes the administration of contracts post-award in coordination with business owners, managing variations, claims, extensions of time, payment certificates, and contract close-outs.

Responsibilities

  • Tender Management
  • Collaborate closely with the Procurement team during the tender stage to ensure the use of appropriate contract templates.
  • Coordinate with business owners to understand their needs and incorporate them into the terms and conditions.
  • Work with the Local Content team to ensure Local Content requirements are accurately included in tender documents. Contract Management
  • Partner with the Legal team to modify contract terms and conditions as required by project needs.
  • Review and manage all variation requests and contract addendums in accordance with project requirements.
  • Handle claims and disputes for non-development contracts and assist the Legal team with Development projects as needed.
  • Manage all project close-outs and address contractual issues during the defects liability period.
  • Review all payment certificates and final payment applications in coordination with business owners and the Finance department. Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks in tendered projects and ensure contract documents adequately address those risks.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Finance departments to secure appropriate insurance coverage and bank guarantees. Communication
  • Lead negotiations with vendors prior to contract award.
  • Oversee the handling of variation requests and coordinate with all stakeholders to reach mutual agreements.
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant departments to keep them informed of all contractual issues.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is desirable.
