Job Purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Content Manager is a key member of the PR team and reports directly to the PR Director at BAE Systems SDT. The role requires a highly creative individual who can develop and execute content marketing strategies that support the overall PR and marketing objectives. The role also involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create compelling content that enhances the company’s reputation and thought leadership in the market.

Job Accountabilities

• Develop and execute the company’s content strategy to support the overall PR objectives.
• Collaborate with the PR team, BD tea, and subject matter experts to create and distribute compelling content, including articles, blogs, case studies, newsletters, infographics, videos, and social media posts.
• Ensure that all content is consistent with the company’s brand and messaging guidelines.
• Optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO) and ensure that it meets best practices for online content.
• Manage the editorial calendar and ensure that content is delivered on time and within budget.
• Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of content marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results.
• Support the digital media lead to manage the company’s social media channels and create engaging content that increases the company’s visibility and engagement.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as advertising agencies and media outlets, to execute content marketing campaigns and initiatives.
• Monitor and analyse industry trends and identify new opportunities to promote the company’s thought leadership.
• Develop and manage relationships with key influencers and thought leaders in the industry.
• Manage the company’s content library and ensure that it is up-to-date and easily accessible to stakeholders.
  
  

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

• Ideally a bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field.
• Extensive experience in content marketing, journalism or similar.
• Strong writing and editing skills along with the ability to create compelling content across various channels and platforms.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and the ability to optimize content for search engines.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
• Knowledge of the defence and aerospace industry is beneficial.
