Content Development Director

Purpose of Job

The job holder is responsible for managing Content Development function including guidelines development and communication, content revision, performance monitoring and enhancement to ensure that all content is readable, accurate, and ready for publication/dissemination.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

• Contribute to the development of Brand & Content Management business plan ensuring alignment with ZATCA strategy
• Develop the operational plan for Content Development in line with Brand & Content Management business plan and Corporate Communications & Awareness strategic plan
• Implement plans and provide input to enable achievement of Content Development goals that support ZATCA’s overall strategic plans
  
  
  

Budget Management

• Discuss Content Development budgeting requirements with top management and provide input to the budgeting process
• Ensure effective utilization of Content Development budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
• Investigate and propose implementing initiatives that result in positive financial impact for Content Development and mitigates financial and operational risks
  
  
  

Content Revision

• Manage the development of content development and speech writing guidelines to standardize and unify content development output
• Ensure communication of content development and speech writing guidelines to relevant functions
• Ensure accurate revision of developed content for internal use (i.e., ZATCA events, speeches, interviews, newsletter etc.) in line with set guidelines and ensure effective and timely delivery
• Ensure accurate revision of developed content for external use (i.e., traditional and digital channels, FAQs, press releases, etc.) in line with set guidelines and ensure effective and timely delivery
• Ensure accurate revision of responses to media mentions in line with set guidelines and ensure effective and timely delivery
• Ensure that ZATCA’s verbal and visual communication material content is consistent, aligned with set guidelines and ZATCA’s objectives
  
  
  

Performance Monitoring and Enhancement

• Monitor the implementation of content development guidelines and activities and enforce corrective actions
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and ensure content material alignment with set standards
• Update ZATCA’s content development and speech writing guidelines, when required, according to derived issues and lessons learned to improve the process
  
  
  

People Management

• Participate in the identification and recruitment of key talent
• Guide, mentor and support direct reports in order to execute duties according to set policies and processes
• Develop individual performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate/appraise team and provide regular feedback on performance
• Establish a high-performance working environment and promote ZATCA values
  
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Translation, Communications, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in Journalism, Translation, Communications, or equivalent is preferred
  
  
  

Experience

An optimal of 8 years of relevant experience, with a preferred 3 years of experience in managerial level
