Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to play a key role in executing infrastructure projects with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery.
The candidate will bring technical knowledge and hands-on site experience to contribute effectively to a high-performance construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a civil engineer with minimum of 2 years of experience to grow within challenging infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site, ensuring adherence to drawings and technical specifications.
- Ensure quality of workmanship and compliance with project standards, safety regulations, and contract requirements.
- Monitor progress and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with design and planning teams to interpret engineering drawings, layout plans, and BOQs.
- Support the resolution of technical issues and RFI responses during construction phases.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and site inspections to align on engineering deliverables.
- Monitor material deliveries and ensure correct usage as per project specifications.
- Maintain documentation on material consumption, quality checks, and inventory records.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely availability of resources.
- Conduct quality checks in line with approved quality plans and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Ensure adherence to safety practices and proactively report hazards or violations.
- Liaise with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain site compliance and proper documentation.
- Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, inspection records, and site documentation.
- Assist in tracking project milestones, delays, and variations, and provide timely updates to the project manager.
- Support documentation for audits, client reviews, and internal reporting.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client representatives to address engineering-related concerns.
- Attend regular site and coordination meetings to ensure alignment of goals and timelines.
- Provide inputs during progress reviews and help implement corrective actions as required.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 2 years of experience in civil construction, preferably with exposure to large infrastructure projects.
- Experience in executing concrete, earthworks, drainage, and pavement-related works.
- Familiarity with project drawings, technical specifications, and civil engineering standards.
- Knowledge of construction tools, methods, and materials used in infrastructure.
- Good understanding of safety and quality practices in construction.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project reporting tools.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in construction projects.
- Exposure to construction project management tools like MS Project or Primavera.
- Certification in construction safety or quality (e.g., OSHA, ISO 9001 awareness).
- Working knowledge of relevant IS codes and international civil engineering standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of contract management and site billing procedures.
