Founded in 1868, Haji Zainal Alireza started trading in Jeddah with foodstuffs, textiles, and merchandise from the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. The company expanded its operations in the 1920s, acquiring shipping agencies and diversifying into automotive, petroleum, and telecommunications.

Renamed Haji Abdullah Alireza and Company in 1929, it grew alongside Saudi Arabia's modernization, establishing offices in Riyadh and Dammam in the 1940s. In 1960, it became a limited liability company and formed strategic partnerships with international firms to support the Kingdom's development.

Today, HAACO Group operates across multiple industries, including telecommunications, maritime services, travel and tours, lube oil blending, and commercial projects.

About the role

As a Chief Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing complex accounting activities, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead financial operations, contribute to strategic decision-making, and enhance the efficiency of financial processes.

Among Your Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS standards.
• Perform account reconciliations and manage month-end/year-end closing activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors and support audit processes.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support their development.
• Conduct financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
• Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with.
• Ensure compliance with VAT and Zakat laws and prepare/review return filings.

We're looking for someone who:

• Is proficient in IFRS and experienced in preparing consolidated financial statements.
• Communicates effectively in English and can present financial information clearly.
• Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Having more than 7 years’ experience.
• Hold an active SOCPA membership.
• Holds a CPA membership (preferred).
• Has exposure to Odoo ERP.
