Role Introduction

To enable Cathay Cargo’s mission at the port by delivering reliable, customer-focused air cargo services through operational support, accurate documentation, and coordination with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. The role upholds safety, compliance, and sustainability while contributing to on-time performance and shipment reliability.

Committed to quality and teamwork, the Cargo Service and Sales Executive ensures every shipment reflects our dedication to moving cargo that matters. The role also supports port management through operational oversight and stakeholder engagement.

In addition, the role contributes to commercial success by assisting with reservations, overseeing supplier performance, and supporting the execution of sales strategies to surpass revenue and performance targets

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Execute cargo reservations and bookings accurately to support seamless shipment planning and customer service.
  • Deliver real-time shipment status updates to customers for transparency and trust.
  • Guide and monitor GHA/GSA/GSSA performance, issuing instructions to uphold service standards and report issues.
  • Maintain ULD inventory compliance and coordinate with regional teams for asset management.
  • Implement digital initiatives (e-AWB, e-Freight) to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.
  • Participate in daily operations to achieve port-level performance targets and metrics.

Administrative & Support Services

  • Prepare and verify flight documentation for crew and customs to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Coordinate freighter catering uplift and manage last-minute changes for uninterrupted operations.
  • Liaise with engineering, airport operations, air traffic control, and suppliers for coordinated service delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, flight crew, and port teams.
  • Manage and support Cathay Pacific flight diversions and coordinate weather diversions as required.
  • Provide crew administration and support at the port for operational continuity.

Ramp Coordinator

  • Monitor ramp and warehouse operations to ensure procedures are executed by RHO and CTO, focusing on special cargo, ad-hoc cargo, mail movements, and freighter loading/unloading.
  • Optimize space utilization for ULDs and freighter belly compartments.
  • Ensure aircraft security searches per the Security Programme.
  • Maintain communication with Captain, RHO, CTO, and Cargo Office.
  • Coordinate with the local CX Cargo office and stakeholders for real-time updates during schedule disruptions.
  • Resolve ramp-side issues swiftly, ensuring safety and service continuity.
  • Investigate causes of delays and provide recommendations to ACSM.
  • Any other reasonable task as requested.

Safety, Security and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal safety, security, quality, and procedural standards.
  • Assist CSM/ACSM with readiness for SMS, Emergency & Accident Response, and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Serve as Operational Duty Holder Delegate when designated, taking ownership of safety and compliance.
  • Act as the local Dangerous Goods Coordinator, ensuring proper handling and documentation of DG shipments.

Operational Duty Holder

  • Serve as Operational Duty Holder Delegate of port RUH, fulfilling responsibilities as per “Best Practice for Cargo Operation Duty Holder - Port.”
  • Be accountable for safe operation of services, including those contracted to others.
  • Manage operational performance and supplier compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring procedures are followed and services delivered per contract.

Revenue Generation & Commercial Support

  • Implement the Cargo Business Plan in alignment with local strategies and KPIs.
  • Assist Cargo Manager(s) and coordinate with GSA teams to achieve revenue targets and generate ancillary revenue.
  • Support capacity management to maximize flight revenue.
  • Champion Cathay products and provide high-quality product solutions to drive premium selling rates and regular business.

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • University degree (or tertiary equivalent) in a related discipline
  • Additional certification or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or aviation operations is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in airline, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related industry, covering operations, cargo sales, or customer service - preferably with exposure to freighter aircraft handling.
  • Mandatory possession of Cathay Cargo Freighter RCO Licence and SHE (Super Heavy) Licence for freighter-operating ports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to customer service.
  • Demonstrated success in goal setting and achievement, supported by solid analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in operational execution
  • Sensitive to confidential data and numbers.
  • Capable of working independently and managing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
