The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of Blowout Preventers used in drilling operations. This role requires a thorough understanding of BOP systems, along with strong technical skills to diagnose and repair any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on Blowout Preventers according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with BOP equipment.
- Coordinate with drilling operations personnel to schedule maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
- Oversee the installation and testing of new BOP equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repair work.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to optimize BOP performance and reliability.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians on proper BOP maintenance techniques and safety procedures.
- Stay informed about advancements in BOP technology and industry best practices to continuously improve maintenance processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in BOP maintenance and repair in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., API, ISO).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to offshore drilling sites as needed.
