Job Summary:

This position is responsible for creating the Bill of Materials for Control Valves, Ball Valves, creating part Drawings, design layouts & uploading the BOM into the ERP software. The candidate should have proven experience in Design, Design Calculations, BOM Engineering, proficiency in CAD software, good proficiency with 3D modeling tools, good math skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Your Role:

• Preparation of Bill of Materials for valve orders based on the request from Order Management.
• Reviewing the Valve specification sheets for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with product standards & requests Application Engineer for revision/update of specifications if required based on Engineering point of view.
• Coordinating with various BU’s (Business Units) & Engineering Center (EC) or our design partner for preparation of Bill of Materials based on the workload/quantity & complexity of the valves.
• Assigning the due date (required by date) to Engineering Center or our design partner along with the request based on the project’s delivery date/lead time Ensuring the completion of the BOM in a timely manner.
• Maintains a Bill of Material Register with list of all the Projects order request.
• Status of all the BOM requests is updated on a regular basis & a monthly report is circulated to Sales/Order Management & Supply Chain.
• Monitors the Performance of EC or our design partner through BOM Register/Weekly Call & Monthly Calls Capturing the BOM & drawing errors & addressing the issues to EC or our design partner.
• Working with EC or our design partner to resolve the BOM issues by means of RAIL & monthly calls
• Creating part numbers for 3rd party items, Spare Parts & Valtek components using Oracle system based on the request from Order Management.
• Working closely with Operations & attending Assembly issues and provide solution.
• Working closely with Supply Chain team in resolving supplier queries & providing clarifications on the component drawings & material grades.
• Providing Application Support (Providing Technical & Commercial Quotations)
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, reduce costs and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
• Able to interact and maintain good rapport with various functions and inter-departments in the organization smoothly and get the things done positively.
• Maintains and updates Engineering reports and Team reports, associated database and be able to present the data & support the Audits (ISO 9001, API SPEC Q1 & API 6D)
• Ability to define a problem collect data and contact appropriate entities to resolve the same.
• Knowledge of the process flow of Materials throughout the organization (purchase, production etc.)
• Consistently Follow up with EC for expediting BoM requirement, technical queries etc.
• Ability to interpret machining drawings, instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form. Understand Mechanical drawings and its features and translate the information on business system while updating BoM.
• Perform Design calculations for pressure containing & pressure controlling parts of Ball valves.
• Perform Design Validation for Ball valves.
• Comply with SHEA policy and report policy violation and hazards.
  
  

Your Profile:

• With at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in Control Valve or Ball valve manufacturing industry as BOM/Design/Application Engineer
• Proven work experience as a Design/BOM Engineer or similar role
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software (SolidWorks, Draft sight)
• Good math skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• With good knowledge in Control Valve Design & Application Engineering
• Experience in FEA Tools will be added advantage.
• With good experience in Control Valve Industry
• With good management skills / undergo leadership training.
• With good communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft office.
• Strong business and financial acumen and possess a good working knowledge and understanding of business operations.
• Strong analytical skills and timely decision-making ability.
• Engineering Graduate Preferably Mechanical Engineering.
• Team player, who is highly self-motivated.
• Highly committed and quick learner
• Timely responsiveness to internal & external customers
• Listen attentively and understand job information clearly.
• Evaluate work, sets priorities, and quickly focuses on most critical needs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
