BIM Coordinator (Electrical)

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented BIM Coordinator (Electrical) .The BIM Coordinator/Draftsman will create detailed technical drawings and plans for MEP systems based upon the deliverables throughout the different phases of a project. Responsible for working closely with the Engineering lead and other Engineering disciplines to ensure project specifications and standards are met and outputs are coordinated before formal issuance of information for approval. Managing and coordinating the digital processes associated with the design and construction stages of a project. This involves ensuring that all digital information is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all stakeholders. Communication is a vital aspect of this role with regular interactions with Engineers, other BIM Modelers, and key stakeholder to keep everyone aligned and deliverables on program

What You'll Be Doing:

• Convert MEP Engineers' designs into detailed technical drawings and 3D models using BIM software for HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, Electrical Systems etc
• Revise models and drawings according to changes in project requirements
• Conduct first stage quality control checks to ensure models and drawings meet client and industry standards and project specifications. Develop and maintain QA/QC templates following the organization’s and project’s quality procedures and the Project’s BIM production methods and standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members regarding BIM software
• Manage digital databases for storage and retrieval of BIM files and ensuring that our digital content is produced, stored, shared and exploited using the latest technologies and practices.
• Work closely with Engineering team members to resolve model problems and ensure their understanding of project, office and/or client BIM Standards.
• Modify and maintain BIM files for use in design drawings.
• Lead Training sessions with project teams on software applications and process.
• Coordinate and assist BIM team in modeling of projects based of existing 2D CAD plans or construction.
• Measure & ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submission in accordance with project standards.
• Technical support training and troubleshooting for primary software.
• Create new project specific workflows to implement client BIM standards.
• Assist to create or maintain standards, processes and goals. File naming convention for deliverables and process for updating status and revision codes in compliance with ISO 19650.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in Drafting Civil Engineering Design and Construction drawings/models.
• Expert knowledge in BIM software (Revit, CAD, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat) and BIM federation/co-ordination platforms (Navisworks).
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and BIM best practices in construction projects.

• Experience in engineering design and interdisciplinary services coordination.
• Proficiency in Common Data Environment (CDE) and supporting project teams.
• Extensive experience with CAD/Production teams.
• Knowledge of data visualization platforms and BIM uses in construction (sequencing, quantity take-offs).
