Job Description

Parsons is now seeking to hire an experienced BIM Coordinator with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various projects that enhance the fabric of our community. In this role you will be responsible to support the scope development, scope management and technical performance of third party design consultants and contractors to ensure project goals and objectives are met with regards to BIM. Supports planning and definition of project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms and corporate policies. Provides discipline specific knowledge and experience as part of the overall design management team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide progress and performance updates on fortnightly and monthly basis e.g. Client (Appointing Party) and Leads.
  • Support the setup, development, configuration, establishment of the Common Data Environment (CDE) for Project use e.g. ProjectWise, BIM 360 etc.
  • Develop and maintain specific BIM software template files to assure compliance to standards.
  • Develop, monitor, coordinate, and report on the development of Pre-and Post-appointment BIM Execution Plan, Task and Master Information Delivery Plan (TIDP and MIDP) for design delivery.
  • Manage, support, and validate Project design delivery e.g. modeling, detailing, scheduling, and extraction(s).
  • Develop the process, perform, measure, and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with local and intranational standards and project requirements during all Project stages.
  • Supervise and oversee the review, monitoring and reporting on the development of clash detection and resolution process and fully coordinated models with design leads.
  • Monitor and support the data collection process and validate models for Construction Operation Building Information Exchange (COBie) for the design stage data drop(s) as required.
  • Prepare validation reports for milestone BIM package submissions.
  • Oversee the validation and export of model geometry and data to schedules for internal design and commercial activities.
  • Support the quality department conducting audits and record non-conformance(s).


What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture/ Engineering (Civil, MEP, Structural, Built Environment IT, Environmental/Sustainability) or related technical/business field.
  • 5 - 10+ years working with BIM in the built environment.
  • Incumbent should have a broad general technical, project management, and business background.
  • Professional registration preferred (AIA, RIBA, CEng, PE, LEED or similar).
  • Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulations, and collaboration applications and/or platforms e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridges Designer, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Cost X, Synchro, BIM 360, ProjectWise etc.
